Role Overview
We’re seeking a motivated Junior Financial Planner/Paraplanner to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be reporting directly to the Head of Wealth. This role offers an excellent opportunity to start or further your career in financial planning, wealth, trading and portfolio management, with additional responsibilities in local and offshore equity analysis and trading, as well as digital communication and content creation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior financial planners in developing comprehensive records of advice/investment proposals, including tax and estate planning
- Gather and analyse client financial information, keep CRM systems updated
- Prepare reports and presentations for client meetings
- Conduct research on financial products and market trends
- Support the implementation of investment strategies
- Maintain accurate client records and ensure compliance with regulations
- Create and manage content for social media platforms
- Assist in developing and implementing social media strategies
- Monitor and engage with audience on various social media channels
Requirements
- Business proficiency in English and Afrikaans is a must
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Investment Management, Economics, or related field
- 0-2 years of experience in financial services (internships considered)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
- Knowledge of South African financial regulations and tax laws
- Studying towards or willingness to pursue relevant professional qualifications (e.g. CFP, CFA)
