The primary purpose of the Procurement Head role is to lead and manage the procurement function to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. This role is instrumental in driving strategic procurement initiatives, enhancing supplier relationships, and delivering value through effective procurement practices. By providing leadership, direction and oversight.

Overall, Purpose of the Role:

The Procurement Head plays a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of the procurement function within the organization. This position is responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimize procurement operations. The Head of Procurement collaborates closely with senior management to align procurement activities with the banks goal and objectives, while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.

Experience and Skills Required:

Bachelors degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management or related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g. CPP, CSCP, CPSM) is a plus.
Minimum of 5 years experience in procurement field.
In-depth knowledge of contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms
Experience collaborating with stakeholders across the organization.
Ability to influence and drive change at all levels within the organization
Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office products, including advanced knowledge of Excel.

Responsibilities: Major Activities

Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
Lead the development of category strategies, vendor management and vendor risk framework.
Identify opportunities for cost savings, risk mitigation and process optimization through strategic procurement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with regulators and procurement policies and procedures.
Mitigate procurement risks by implementing robust controls, governance frameworks, and risk assessment methodologies.
Provide leadership, coaching and guidance to the procurement team

Output

Optimal supplier relationships and contracts resulting in cost savings and value creation.
Streamlined procurement processes and operations driving efficiency and productivity gains.
Compliance with regulators, policies, and quality standards.
Effective risk mitigation strategies and controls to safeguard procurement activities.
