Direct Line Manager – Information Systems Manager

Job Grade: Patterson: CU

PURPOSE STATEMENT

To serve as a business partner for the relevant functional areas, serving as the link between the business and IT, ensuring information systems requirements are delivered upon through analysing, designing, specifying, developing, implementing, and supporting information systems.

Key performance areas (to translate into a measure of success)

  • Execute and manage information systems projects
  • Compile business/functional requirements documents (including process mapping)
  • Compile system design and specification documents
  • Develop (low code), configure & implement system changes
  • Provide level 3 support to users
  • Assist with business intelligence (BI) report development
  • Continuously identify opportunities for business process and/or system functionality enhancements
  • Remain up-to-date with the Microsoft technology stack as relevant to that used or to be used by Eazi Access
  • Work effectively with 3rd party partners where relevant on projects and support

MAIN OUTPUTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS POSITION

Execute and manage information systems projects

  • Review information systems change requests from the business and qualify their technical feasibility.
  • Execute and manage information systems related projects, ensuring each project is adequately and timeously:
    • Scoped
    • Planned
    • Designed
    • Developed
    • Tested
    • Implemented
    • Supported

Compile business/functional requirements documents

  • Understand the needs of the business and determine how the information systems can enable and support those needs by:
    • Proactively identifying opportunities
    • Reactively listening to and understanding business needs
  • Document the business needs in appropriate business/ functional requirements document
  • Where relevant, map out as-is and to-be business processes and data flows

Compile system design and technical specification documents

  • Design and document system changes and specifications for new/changed system functionality
  • Ensure design makes appropriate use of existing components to minimise cost
  • Ensure design maximises process efficiency and includes measures to monitor its effectiveness
  • Follow security by design principles to ensure security, privacy and confidentiality is inherent in all system development/changes

Develop (low code), configure & implement system changes

  • Develop certain changes / new functionality related to Dynamics 365 and Power Apps, working closely with 3rd party partners where necessary.
  • Perform surface testing for changes/new functionality
  • Design, plan and coordinate user acceptance testing before implementing changes/new functionality
  • Implement system changes following the Eazi Access change control procedure

Provide level 3 support to users

  • As a functional expert in the respective information systems functional area, provide 3rd level system or user support where level 1 & 2 support have been unable to resolve an issue or achieve the desired outcome
  • Apply problem solving techniques to ensure all escalated issues are resolved
  • For problems, perform root cause analyses to determine and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence of issues
  • Identify where master data administration is not being performed adequately. Articulate and implement corrective action to ensure master data is appropriately maintained.

Assist with business intelligence (BI) report development

  • On an ad hoc basis, assist in the development or maintenance of BI reports

Continuously identify opportunities for business process and/or system functionality enhancements

  • Proactively identify opportunities for business process and/or system enhancements that will add further value to the business

Remain up to date with the Microsoft technology stack

 

  • Proactively ensure your knowledge remains up to date with the Microsoft technology stack as relevant to that used by Eazi Access
  • Proactively suggest the adoption of new technologies / functionality the becomes available that may add value to Eazi Access

Work effectively with 3rd party partners where relevant on projects and support

  • Certain activities will involve working with 3rd party partners. Ensure that they:
    • are effectively briefed
    • deliver according to our expectations in terms of scope, timelines and quality

Any other lawful and reasonable outputs and responsibilities that may be required.

REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications

Minimum – Relevant Tertiary Qualification IT or business related

Advantage – Relevant Microsoft Systems certification

Experience

  • 5 years experience with ERP systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 or AX) in a similar role including the following:
    • ERP system design/implementation
    • SDLC
    • Business analysis
    • Systems architecture
  • Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate development
  • Application development and SQL experience advantageous
  • Relevant experience in the rental industry and machine maintenance advantageous

Knowledge

  • Microsoft Dynamics 365, Dataverse and Power Apps development
  • Functional requirements and system specification documentation
  • Business analysis competencies
  • Business process re-engineering competencies
  • Cross-functional business experience (incl. sales, rental and machine servicing / maintenance)
