What will you do?

The role is based in either Cape Town or Sandton. The successful candidate will be responsible for taking a leading role in providing pricing support of retail products for businesses in SanlamAllianz Life. The role will cover pricing across both affluent and entry level / mass market products and will include the full spectrum of risk, retirement and investment products.

Responsibilities of the role include:   

  • Pricing – Determining appropriate pricing basis and performing the pricing calculations in Prophet.
  • Documentation – Writing pricing reports clearly documenting the pricing process, assumptions and results.
  • Drive pricing approvals – Engaging a wide range of stakeholders, including the Head of Actuarial function, to ensure an efficient approval process.   
  • Model handover – Supporting the Actuarial valuations and Prophet model development teams with the model implementation of new products.
  • Process – Improving the pricing processes of the SanlamAllianz Product Support team.

This role will involve working closely with Product Development Managers as well as actively engaging senior management from businesses, valuation teams, SPA Modelling team and SPA Head of Actuarial Function to ensure the requirements of various stakeholders are considered and appropriately addressed.

  • Prioritise deliverables and manage expectations of various stakeholders to ensure Sanlam Pan Africa’s strategic product objectives are met.

 Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified or nearly qualified actuary (maximum 2 exams outstanding)

Knowledge & Skills

  • Product development and/or pricing experience preferable
  • Prophet experience is essential
  • Plans, prioritises and aligns to meet organisational goals
  • Problem solving skills
  • Technical pricing skills
