SPECIFICATION

A dynamic, vibrant and growing IT company is looking for an IT Support Technician who is motivated, driven, and passionate about technology and innovation. We are looking for someone who will actively participate and contribute to help improve the way we provide excellence in customer services.

The IT support Technician will be responsible for managing/supporting our clients IT infrastructure, this will include the desktop environment, servers, software/applications, networks and users.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Ensure calls are recorded in the PSA system, accurately documented and categorised.
  • Ensure that all the incidents / requests are responded to within required SLA.
  • Provide telephonic / remote support / Onsite Support /Chat Support
  • Ensure clients are kept up to date regarding their incidents and requests.
  • Troubleshoot networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational problems.
  • Maintain a high degree of first-time resolution for all support queries and adhere to all service management principles as directed.
  • To take ownership of end-user issues, problems and be pro-active when dealing with user issues and help them resolve any hardware or software problems.
  • Assists users as needed or thru tickets on computer problems or complaints and make recommendations for process improvements for IT-related functions.
  • To escalate more complex calls according to the escalation procedure keeping ownership for the duration of the problem.
  • Resolving basic hardware issues, troubleshooting software issues, and assisting users with account limitations
  • Be responsible for latest security AV as well as all relevant patches.
  • Follow policies and procedures.
  • Performs back-up and systems monitoring.

REQUIREMENTS             

  • Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent certificate essential.
  • Minimum A+ N+ or similar preferable essential
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience as an IT Support technician.
  • Microsoft Certification will be beneficial.
  • Understanding of LAN / WAN / Firewalls.
  • Own vehicle and driver’s license

  • Ability to troubleshoot and provide recommendations for resolving technical issues.
  • Good knowledge of desktop support and 365.
  • Hands on’ approach and a willingness to learn is a must.
  • Commitment to future job relevant certifications essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills – comfortable interfacing with all levels of company
  • Excellent communication in English and Afrikaans, both verbal and written.
  • Well presented.
