A dynamic, vibrant and growing cosmetics business is looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join their Finance Department in Bellville, Cape Town. 

The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible to ensure the completeness and proper allocation of invoices, purchase orders, remittances, quotes and delivery notes in order to ensure Supplier reconciliations and financial systems are maintained. They will support finance in ad hoc data capturing requirements, as well as validate the payments bank account on the accounting system and performing balance sheet recons at month end and ensure that Stock and Intergroup sales invoicing is accurately captured. 

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Matric qualification  

  • Bookkeeping/ Relevant Accounting Qualification (diploma/ degree would be advantageous) 

  • 3-5 years’ experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk 

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively 

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects with high attention to detail 

  • Excellent written and communication skills 

  • Computer literate MS Office, Word/Excel/Power Point 

  • Exposure to foreign transactions will be advantageous

  • Must be computer Literate – excellent Microsoft Office Suite proficiency required and adaptability to learn inhouse web-based systems and more, as required 
  • Have the ability to grasp basic accounting principles and quickly learn accounting packages 
  • Must be able to stand in for colleagues within finance, but different departmental duties, where the need arises 
  • Able to communicate with colleagues, as well as Managers at all levels 
  • Influence the team positively and collaborate in order to achieve goals 
  • Able to assist Finance Controller with ad hoc queries and reports where needed
