Operational & Technical Collaboration

• Work closely with the engineering department to ensure accurate material specifications and technical drawings are provided to suppliers for quotation purposes

• Assist with breakdown requirements for production

• Act as stand-in for the Senior Buyer when required, managing all stock purchases

Education & Experience

• Matric

• National Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or equivalent (advantageous)

• Minimum of 3 years’ procurement management experience within a technical/mechanical environment

Key Responsibilities

(Including but not limited to the following)

Procurement & Supplier Management

• Negotiate pricing and place orders for SAP stock items, non-stock items, and services with suppliers

• Obtain quotations from suppliers for NPM (Non-Production Materials), consumables, and Production Material (PM) across all departments

• Expedite purchase orders and provide weekly order reports for planning purposes

• Conduct supplier meetings as required

• Source parts and materials locally and internationally to achieve cost savings and establish alternative suppliers

• Monitor supplier performance, including late deliveries and defective products, and issue supplier monitoring letters where necessary

Finance, Compliance & Systems

• Reconcile invoices and delivery notes for all orders

• Assist the finance department with invoice queries and reconciliations

• Prepare and finalise all SLAs and NDAs

• Obtain relevant documentation and load suppliers onto SAP

• Create and maintain material master data (ME12), including pricing, lead times, and minimum order quantities

• Periodically update pricing on supplier master data (MM02) in SAP

Logistics & BBBEE Compliance

• Arrange collection and logistics for all foreign and local orders

• Manage shipping line costing for foreign purchases and update SAP purchase orders to include landed cost

• Assist with BBBEE requests by calling and emailing suppliers for updated and latest BBBEE certificates

• Update and manage BBBEE details on SAP

• Source BBBEE-compliant suppliers to ensure BBBEE targets and supplier development objectives are met

Supplier Evaluation

• Evaluate suppliers based on cost, quality, service, availability, and reliability
