Job Title: Driver/Stores Assistant

Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and organized Driver/Stores Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of goods to various locations, managing the organization and maintenance of the store, and supporting the team with inventory management. This role requires excellent driving skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate company vehicles to transport goods and materials to designated locations.

• Assist with loading and unloading of goods, ensuring they are securely packed and protected during transit.

• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery times, mileage, and any issues encountered.

• Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safe and efficient operation.

• Support the store team with receiving, sorting, and organizing inventory.

• Monitor stock levels and report any discrepancies or shortages to the store manager.

• Assist with regular stocktaking and inventory audits.

• Maintain a clean and organized store environment.

• Provide excellent customer service and represent the company in a professional manner during deliveries.

• Accurately pack and label products according to specified guidelines and customer requirements.

• Inspect products for quality and report any defects or issues to the supervisor.

• Ensure that all packaging materials are used efficiently and effectively.

• Keep accurate records of packed items and prepare shipping documentation.

• Assist with loading and unloading of goods as needed.

• Collaborate with team members to meet daily packing targets and deadlines.

• Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

• Proven experience as a driver, preferably in a similar role.

• Familiarity with Cape Town and surrounding areas.

• Matric Certificate.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Ability to lift and move heavy items as required.

• Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Basic knowledge of inventory management and store operations is a plus.
