Job Details

A leading micro-payment processing service aggregator is looking for a Financial Accountant in Cape Town.

Please note: this is a contract role to cover maternity relief (7 – 8 months).

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Preparation of daily cash flow and voucher stock procurement.
  • Release daily supplier and ad hoc payments.
  • Prepare and load daily supplier and ad hoc payments.
  • Follow up on bank-related queries.
  • Reconciliation and posting of cashbooks, on a monthly basis.
  • Preparation and processing of month-end general journals.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, within the reporting deadline.
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis, providing supporting documentation.
  • Ensure all inventory movements are correctly processed.
  • Investigation into and write-off of hardware stock variances on a monthly basis.
  • Performing voucher stock reconciliations between Pastel accounting system and Content Ready system.
  • Capturing of supplier invoices, ensuring all are valid tax invoices.
  • Requesting statements and invoices from creditors, ensuring invoices are obtained timeously.
  • Preparation of monthly creditor reconciliations and requisitions for supplier payments.
  • Reviewing monthly creditors age analysis.
  • Ensuring all debtors invoices are raised with the correct supporting documentation and are correctly posted in Pastel Evolution.
  • Reviewing monthly debtors age analysis to ensure payments are received and allocated.
  • Fixed asset register management, processing of monthly depreciation journals and disposal of fixed asset journals, where applicable.
  • Ensure fixed asset registers reconcile to the General Ledger.
  • Prepare monthly VAT calculations, Output VAT and Input VAT recons and ensure returns are submitted within the deadlines.
  • Reviewing Namibian payroll on a monthly basis (10 employees).
  • Prepare monthly tax calculations and ensure provisional tax payments are made timeously.
  • Providing information for budgets and quarterly forecasts; and assisting with the preparation thereof.
  • Assisting external auditors with statutory audit requests and preparation of Annual Financial Statements.
  • Assisting internal auditors with SOX compliance reviews and other ad hoc internal audits as required.
  • Managing a team of 1 staff (finance assistant) and reviewing their work.

REQUIREMENTS              

  • BCom Accounting degree.
  • Completed minimum 3 years SAICA articles.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Proficient in English, written and verbal.
