Job Details

An established and growing hospitality brand looking for a Receptionist / Marketing Intern to assist with “front of house”, advertising, and promotional efforts within the company. You will be responsible for completing clerical and administrative duties, building social media campaigns, or preparing promotional materials. They may also be called upon to create presentations that advise their managers on promoting certain revenue streams.

This role will help you acquire marketing skills and provide you with knowledge of various marketing strategies. Ultimately, you will gain broad experience in marketing and should be prepared to enter any fast paced work environment.

Location: Waterfront, Cape Town, South Africa

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES, NOT LIMITED TO:

Customer Reputation Management

  • Managing the CRM process from start to finish.
  • Report on a monthly basis by the 7th of every month.

Administration

  • Devising/maintaining office systems, including data management and filing.
  • All secretarial work including arranging travel, visas, and accommodation.
  • Screening phone calls, inquiries, requests, and handling them when appropriate.
  • Meeting and greeting visitors at all levels of seniority.
  • Organising and maintaining diaries.
  • Dealing with incoming emails, deliveries, and mail – often corresponding on behalf of the team/office.
  • Producing documents, briefing papers, reports, and presentations.
  • Organising and attending meetings and ensuring the manager is well prepared for meetings.
  • Liaising with clients, suppliers, and other staff.
  • Managing kitchen, stationery, and first aid stock inventory.
  • Managing restaurant and packaging material stock inventory, including monthly stock take, weekly stock top-ups, order processing, and shipping.
  • In addition to supporting managers, their teams, and departments, additional duties may include:
  • Carrying out specific projects and research.
  • Liaising with the finance department to ensure suppliers are paid timeously.

Marketing

  • Manage daily administrative tasks to ensure the marketing department runs smoothly.
  • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and suppliers to support the execution thereof.
  • Create reports on marketing campaigns.
  • Assist with planning and organising promotional events and national campaigns.
  • Coordinate with the Creative Lead and Marketing Brand Manager to create advertising material.
  • Monitor competitors’ marketing activities.
  • Writing and proofreading of content, including menu, radio scripts, and press releases.
  • Communicating with franchisees and suppliers and maintaining good relations.
  • Develop and implement strategies with the marketing team.
  • Manage vouchering systems from start to finish.
  • Managing marketing giveaway hamper stock and promotional item stock.
  • Liaising with the finance department to ensure suppliers are paid timeously.

REQUIREMENTS              

  • Strong desire to learn along with professional drive
  • Solid understanding of different marketing techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Familiarity with marketing computer software and online applications (e.g. CRM tools, Online analytics and Google Adwords)
  • Passion for the marketing industry and its best practices
  • Current enrollment in a related BS or Masters degree
