CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Spearhead financial reporting to keep everything spot-on and timely.
Nail accurate, complete accounting records with daily GRN suspense reviews – spotting unprocessed invoices or GRNs and sorting them out with operations and accounts payable.
Whip up monthly management packs: balance sheets, income statements, cash flows, debtor/creditor ages, reconciliations, and inventory reports.
Handle key journals like payroll, depreciation, prepayments, amortisation, and forex valuations – all backed by solid docs.
Tackle revenue recognition on contracts with precision.
Oversee financial operations and cash flow mastery.
Manage the department: banking, payments, returns, and tracking cash per project against funding.
Lead your team – a bookkeeper and two accounts payable clerks – while keeping creditors humming.
Champion governance, controls, and compliance.
Drive SARS submissions: monthly VAT and PAYE returns, payments via group treasury, all reconciled to the ledger; plus income and provisional tax via tax advisors.
Own the year-end audit: liaise with auditors, handle requests, arrange stock counts, and resolve issues (bar project accounting).
