About the Role

Are you a high-energy sales professional with a passion for animal health? Vitaspec is a leading wholesale distributor of Act 101 and Act 36 medications and consumables. We have been a trusted partner to the veterinary industry for over 13 years, and we are looking for a dynamic Sales Representative to join our growing team.

You won’t just be selling products; you will be managing the vital link between our warehouse and the frontline veterinary teams. Your goal is to grow our footprint within veterinary practices, poultry farms, and specialist faculties by being a value-added partner to Veterinarians, Nurses, and Practice Managers.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Portfolio Management: Drive sales across our extensive range of Act 101 (Scheduled meds), Act 36 (OTC/Stock remedies), and general surgical consumables.Relationship Excellence: Maintain and expand relationships with existing clients while aggressively identifying new business opportunities.
  2. The “Frontline” Strategy: Implement and manage innovative practice-level incentive programs (like our Rewards League) to engage nursing and reception staff.
  3. Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor pricing, and new product launches in the poultry and companion animal sectors.
  4. Technical Support: Provide basic product guidance and ensure practices are stocked for their specific seasonal needs (e.g., deworming or vaccination cycles).

Requirements

  1. Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of proven sales experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical, veterinary, or agricultural wholesale sector.
  2. Knowledge: Familiarity with Act 101 and Act 36 regulations is highly advantageous.
  3. Attributes: A self-starter with excellent negotiation skills and the ability to work independently “on the road.”
  4. Mobility: Valid South African Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle (Travel is a core part of this role).
  5. Communication: Fluent in English (Afrikaans is a significant advantage for our regional client base).
