Role Purpose
To supervise and coordinate second operations production activities in a high-volume manufacturing environment, ensuring output targets, quality standards, safety compliance, and cost controls are consistently achieved.
Compulsory Requirements (NonâNegotiable)
- Qualification in Operations Management or Production Management

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing or mechanical production environment

Proven experience in high-volume or repetitive production environments
-
Demonstrated exposure to supervision, shop-floor coordination, and production control
-
Strong working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
Advantageous (Not Compulsory)

Mechanical Engineering or related technical qualification
Key Responsibilities
Production & Output Control
-
Execute daily production plans to meet takt time, output targets, and on-time delivery requirements
-
Supervise and coordinate operators to ensure continuous flow and minimal stoppages
-
Balance labour and capacity utilisation to optimise throughput and reduce idle time
-
Monitor cycle times, bottlenecks, and capacity constraints, implementing corrective actions
-
Track and report hourly and daily performance against plan
Data, Reporting & Control
-
Record and analyse production metrics including output, downtime, scrap, rework, and labour efficiency
-
Use production data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities
-
Support continuous improvement initiatives using factual and accurate information
Quality Assurance
-
Ensure all work complies with quality standards, specifications, and internal procedures
-
Enforce correct identification, traceability, and labelling of components and materials
-
Contain quality issues immediately and drive root cause analysis
-
Support corrective and preventive action implementation
-
Promote zero-defect and right-first-time production
Equipment Reliability & Maintenance
-
Conduct daily autonomous maintenance and equipment checks
-
Monitor equipment condition to prevent unplanned breakdowns
-
Support TPM and preventative maintenance activities
-
Ensure equipment issues are escalated and addressed without delay
Safety, Health & Compliance
-
Enforce safe work procedures and PPE compliance at all times
-
Take responsibility for legal safety appointments where required
-
Stop unsafe work immediately and act on hazards and incidents
-
Promote a proactive safety culture
-
Maintain compliance with legal, regulatory, and company safety requirements
Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement
-
Implement and sustain lean manufacturing principles
-
Apply and maintain 5S and housekeeping standards
-
Use visual management tools to support fast, effective decision-making
-
Identify and eliminate waste related to motion, waiting, defects, overproduction, and excess inventory
-
Lead small improvement projects to increase efficiency and reduce costs
Stock & Material Control
-
Ensure correct material availability to prevent line stoppages
-
Adhere to ERP and work order processes
-
Control WIP, scrap, and rejects to minimise losses
-
Maintain system accuracy and material traceability
Workforce Supervision & Discipline
-
Lead, coach, and develop production team members
-
Provide clear direction, daily task allocation, and performance feedback
-
Manage attendance, timekeeping, and labour utilisation
-
Address performance and behavioural issues promptly and fairly
-
Ensure training, competency assessments, and records are completed
-
Foster a culture of accountability and ownership
Cost Control
-
Manage departmental costs including labour, scrap, consumables, and downtime
-
Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives without compromising safety or quality
Team Collaboration
-
Work closely with Maintenance, Quality, Planning, and Support teams
-
Contribute to overall departmental and organisational objectives
