Medical Accounts Administrator
CORE PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

This role sits at the heart of medical practice revenue management. From billing procedures and submitting claims, to chasing outstanding amounts and keeping patients and medical schemes in the loop, you’ll keep the full debtor process under control. Accuracy, speed and professional communication are the name of the game.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Capture and bill medical procedures accurately and timeously

Submit claims to medical aids and directly to patients using established billing systems

Allocate and capture payments, reconcile accounts and manage full debtor books

Proactively follow up on outstanding accounts with medical schemes and patients

Monitor production targets and ensure daily, weekly and monthly goals are met

Build and maintain strong working relationships with new and existing practices/clients

Handle telephone and email queries professionally and efficiently

Keep records up to date and organised for easy reporting and auditing

REQUIREMENTS

Grade 12 (matric) as a minimum

At least 2 years’ experience in medical billing within a practice, bureau or similar environment

Solid understanding of ICD-10 coding

Experience with allied health billing highly advantageous

Confident, clear communication skills – written, verbal and excellent telephone etiquette

Strong planning and organisational skills with a structured approach to workload

Comfortable working in a communal office environment and collaborating within a team

Proficient typing and good general computer literacy

Competent user of GoodX billing system and Microsoft 365

Able to work under pressure, handle high volumes and meet tight deadlines consistently

Own reliable transport to the Lynnwood Manor, Pretoria office
