ROBOTIC WELDER PROGRAMMER
CORE PURPOSE

The Robotic Welder Programmer develops, programs, tests, and maintains robotic welding cells to hit production, quality, and safety targets. Working closely with engineering, production, and maintenance, the role focuses on squeezing maximum accuracy, speed, and reliability out of a SIASUN robotic welder in a real-world manufacturing environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Create, modify, and optimise robot programs for MIG, TIG, spot, and stud welding using both Teach Pendant and Virtual Pendant

Develop and fine-tune welding parameters, including torch and payload offsets, TCP calibrations, and weld seam tracking

Convert engineering drawings and welding procedures into stable, repeatable robotic welding processes

Perform simulation and off-line programming using suitable robotics/welding software tools

Troubleshoot robot programs, sensors, vision systems, and welding power source integration, and implement effective corrective actions

Provide hands-on training and support to operators and maintenance staff on set-up, basic fault finding, and safe operation

Maintain strict compliance with welding standards, safety regulations, and internal quality systems across all welding activities

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

2–5 years hands-on experience with robotic welding in a production or R&D environment, or equivalent welding experience with demonstrable laser training

Familiarity with laser types and welding modes, including continuous, pulsed, conduction, and keyhole

Strong ability to interpret welding drawings, welding symbols, and formal welding procedures

Solid experience using precision measurement tools and inspection methods to verify weld quality and part conformity

Proven background in setting and optimising laser parameters, with experience in fixturing and robotic positioning strongly preferred

Basic understanding of metallurgy, including weldability and heat-affected zone behaviour

Confident with computers for logging parameters, completing reports, and accessing technical documentation
