A leading commercial solar solutions provider specialising in large-scale Solar PV projects (7MW and above). The company delivers turnkey renewable energy solutions to industrial, commercial, and agricultural clients across South Africa, with a strong focus on technical excellence and long-term sustainability.
Role Overview:
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving growth within the large-scale Solar PV market. The role involves identifying new business opportunities, managing high-value client relationships, and securing Solar PV projects from 7MW upward. The ideal candidate is experienced, commercially strong, technically knowledgeable in the solar industry, and able to oversee the full BD lifecycle
Minimum requirements:
- Musst have Proven experience in business development within the commercial/industrial Solar PV sector.
- Demonstrated success in securing large Solar PV projects (7MW+).
- Strong technical understanding of solar engineering, feasibility, financial modelling, and energy yield.
- Excellent negotiation and high-value deal-closing skills.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to client sites.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to engage with C-suite and executive-level stakeholders.
Duties will include but is not limited to:
- Lead business development initiatives for Solar PV projects 7MW+.
- Identify, qualify, and secure new commercial and industrial clients.
- Develop and maintain relationships with developers, EPCs, consultants, and key industry stakeholders.
- Drive tender submissions, proposals, and commercial negotiations.
- Collaborate with the engineering, finance, and project teams on feasibility, design, and costing.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify new opportunities and trends.
- Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and partner engagements.
- Manage the full sales pipeline and deliver accurate forecasting reports.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental, and safety standards related to large-scale solar projects.
