Job Details

Job Purpose

  • To deliver end-to-end HR services across operational sites, with a strong focus on Industrial Relations, ensuring compliance with labour legislation and supporting line management in all people-related matters.
  • This role serves as the primary HR contact across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities
Industrial Relations

  • Manage disciplinary processes end-to-end (investigations, hearings, outcomes)
  • Handle grievances and dispute resolution
  • Represent the company in external dispute resolution forums where required
  • Advise line management on labour law, procedures, and risk
  • Ensure procedural and substantive fairness

Employee Relations & Advisory 

  • Act as a trusted advisor to supervisors and employees across sites
  • Provide guidance on policies, procedures, and workplace issues
  • Promote consistent and fair application of HR practices

HR Operations (Full Lifecycle) 

  • Manage onboarding, transfers, and terminations
  • Maintain employee records and HR systems
  • Support workforce planning with line management
  • Ensure effective HR service delivery across multiple sites

Recruitment 

  • Partner with line management on hiring requirements
  • Participate in interviews and guide fair, compliant selection decisions
  • Review and approve shortlisted candidates provided through sourcing support
  • Ensure recruitment processes are applied consistently and in line with company standards

Performance & Incapacity Management

  • Support performance management processes
  • Guide managers on poor performance and incapacity procedures

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with applicable labour legislation and internal policies
  • Maintain HR policies and procedures
  • Support audits and inspections

Reporting & Insights 

  • Compile HR reports (headcount, absenteeism, IR trends)
  • Provide input to the Commercial Manager on people-related risks 

Key Competencies 

  • Strong Industrial Relations expertise
  • Sound knowledge of labour legislation
  • Ability to operate independently across sites
  • Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Practical, hands-on approach 

Minimum requirements 

  • Diploma/Degree in HR or Labour Relations
  • 3–6 years’ HR generalist experience with strong IR exposure
  • Proven experience managing disciplinary hearings and dispute resolution
  • Experience in operational environments (advantageous)
  • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel between sites
