Job Details
A leading organisation in the automotive industry is seeking a VOIP-focused Network Administrator for a 3-month fixed term contract, with a strong emphasis on extensive VOIP systems knowledge and hands-on experience within a structured, governance-driven enterprise environment. While supporting and maintaining the broader enterprise network — including Cisco Meraki switching and WiFi, VeloCloud SD-WAN, and multi-vendor platforms — your primary responsibility will be to stabilise, enhance, and support the VOIP environment at both operational and project level. You will execute voice and network upgrades, provide first- and second-level support with a strong voice focus, ensure optimal call quality and performance, and operate strictly within established change management frameworks. Working closely with senior network engineers, you will play a critical role in maintaining voice service continuity, supporting documentation and reporting standards, and contributing to knowledge sharing within a highly professional enterprise setting.
Requirements:
- CCNA certification (essential) with a minimum of 3+ years’ network infrastructure experience
- Advanced knowledge and experience with VOIP.
- Strong routing & switching fundamentals with solid understanding of TCP/IP and firewall basics
- Experience working in multi-vendor enterprise network environments
- Proven hands-on exposure to Cisco networking equipment, basic firewall configuration, and network monitoring tools
- Strong troubleshooting methodology and ability to resolve complex network issues
- Comfortable operating within structured governance and change management frameworks
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills Advantageous: SD-WAN (VeloCloud), VoIP (SIP/RTP/QoS), Azure/AWS cloud networking, Cisco Meraki wireless, automation tools, basic Python or PowerShell scripting Additional certifications such as Network+, Security+, PCNSA, or vendor-specific credentials are beneficial
- Willingness to work in a 3-month fixed-term contract role within an automotive enterprise environment, including possible on-call rotation, occasional after-hours support, and limited travel
Responsibilities
- Projects & Implementation
- Execute network infrastructure projects
- Perform equipment installations and configuration deployments
- Support network migrations and technology implementations
- Work under senior guidance in line with project specifications
Maintenance
- Conduct scheduled and preventive maintenance
- Apply firmware and configuration updates
- Ensure optimal performance of network infrastructure components
Technical Support & Knowledge Transfer
- Provide first- and second-level network support
- Troubleshoot routing, switching, and connectivity issues
- Document solutions and contribute to knowledge sharing
Critical Issue Management
- Respond to incidents within defined SLA frameworks
- Assist with troubleshooting and escalation
- Participate in structured incident response processes
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate network documentation and diagrams
- Generate performance and operational reports
- Contribute to standard operating procedure development
