Job Details
Warehouse Team leader required to lead small team of 5 – 6 people and working closely between sales and despatch ensuring operations, deliveries and driver schedules run smoothly accordingly. This role is based in Tokai, Cape Town.
Key Performance Areas (including but not limited to):
Coordinate daily warehouse activities including receiving, picking, packing, dispatch, and loading.
Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments and verify accuracy of inventory and documentation.
Ensure adherence to SOPs, GDP (good distribution practise) requirements, and company policies.
Support production and distribution schedules through timely material availability.
Lead and motivate warehouse associates on shift to meet productivity, quality, and safety targets.
Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and provide on-the-job coaching.
Oversee the end-to-end movement of raw materials, consumables, and finished goods.
Coordinate with Sales, production, and Logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and dispatch.
Support Just-In-Time (JIT) and lean inventory practices aligned with production schedules
Perform and support cycle counts and stock checks; investigate and report discrepancies.
Ensure accurate scanning and system transactions using WMS/ERP systems.
Maintain FIFO/FEFO principles and correct stock storage practices.
Enforce health and safety standards, PPE usage, and safe manual handling.
Conduct routine safety checks and report incidents, hazards, and near misses.
Maintain high housekeeping standards in the warehouse and surrounding areas.
Ensure all operations comply with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
Communicate shift handovers, issues, and operational updates clearly.
Work closely with Production, Quality, and Logistics teams to support operational goals.
Qualifications and Experience
Grade 12
3 year proven work experience in warehouse or manufacturing industry
Valid forklift certificate
Basic knowledge of WMS/ERP systems
