Content Marketing Specialist

A fast-moving, hands-on content role for someone who knows how to keep channels active, content polished, and brand voice sharp. Based in Cape Town, this position supports a global marketing function with a strong focus on social media, short-form content, email execution, and day-to-day digital presence across the transport technology and intelligent infrastructure space.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own daily community management across LinkedIn, with an emphasis on thoughtful engagement, timely responses, and audience growth
  • Monitor relevant conversations, industry hashtags, competitor activity, and trending topics to surface useful content ideas
  • Help establish and grow a presence on X, supporting channel set-up, posting rhythm, and ongoing maintenance
  • Assist with launching and managing a LinkedIn newsletter, including scheduling, coordination, and audience development
  • Maintain a consistent posting cadence aligned to the content calendar

CONTENT CREATION

  • Create and schedule original short-form content, including copy, graphics, photos, and short videos
  • Produce visually engaging assets using Canva, Adobe Suite, or similar tools
  • Edit basic video clips with trimming, subtitles, and simple transitions
  • Support live event coverage for conferences, webinars, and internal activations
  • Keep all content accurate, on-brand, and tailored to professional B2B audiences

EMAIL MARKETING

  • Build, maintain, and test email templates in Campaign Monitor or a similar platform
  • Execute email campaigns based on supplied copy, wireframes, and strategy
  • Check rendering across devices and email clients
  • Support list management and basic campaign reporting

CONTENT COORDINATION

  • Partner closely with the Marketing & Communications Manager to brainstorm content ideas and refine the editorial plan
  • Help maintain a forward-looking calendar covering product updates, customer stories, webinars, events, and industry news
  • Translate direction into clean, timely output with a strong eye for detail
  • Keep the wider team informed on relevant industry shifts and channel activity

WEB SUPPORT

  • Publish and update content in WordPress using Elementor
  • Make simple on-page updates and assist with SEO content recommendations
  • Ensure published pages and posts are mobile-friendly, consistent, and well presented

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2–4 years of experience in social media, digital content, or marketing communications
  • Strong English writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Proven ability to write engaging short-form copy for social channels
  • Experience with LinkedIn and content scheduling tools such as Buffer, Later, or native schedulers
  • Confident using Canva, Adobe Suite, or similar design tools
  • Basic video editing ability
  • Experience with email marketing platforms such as Campaign Monitor
  • Comfortable with basic WordPress publishing; Elementor experience is a bonus
  • Highly organised, proactive, and quality-focused

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

  • Cape Town-based, or willing to relocate at own cost
  • Full in-office role in Bellville, with reliable transport required
  • Able to work adjusted hours to collaborate with U.S.-based teams
  • South African passport eligibility required
