This Data Officer role sits right at the heart of high-quality market intelligence, keeping core datasets clean, up to date, and dependable – all from the comfort of your home office.

ROLE OVERVIEW

This role centres on data entry, research, and meticulous data maintenance across a range of health and social care datasets. Expect plenty of time working with spreadsheets, online sources, and internal systems, carefully checking facts, updating records, and keeping everything consistent and reliable.

The working pattern is full-time (37.5 hours per week) during UK business hours, fully remote, and part of a small, supportive data team that values accuracy, structure, and clear communication.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research UK health and social care organisations using trusted public sources
  • Collect, verify, and record information in a clear, structured format
  • Maintain and update existing datasets as new information becomes available
  • Spot missing, outdated, or inconsistent data and correct or complete records
  • Support data-related projects and ad hoc operational tasks when needed
  • Follow established processes, workflows, and data standards consistently

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Reliable, organised, and comfortable working independently in a remote setup
  • Strong ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks without close supervision
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including filtering, sorting and basic formulas
  • High level of computer literacy and confidence using multiple systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy over sustained periods
  • Clear written communication skills and confident use of written English
  • Good standard of education, with strong English and Mathematics (or equivalent)

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Previous experience in administration, data entry, or data maintenance
  • Experience researching information online and recording structured findings
  • Familiarity with Excel functions such as VLOOKUP or XLOOKUP
  • Interest in data, information systems, or structured datasets
  • Experience using AI tools to support research, checking, or productivity

WORKING STYLE AND ENVIRONMENT

The data team is small and collaborative, with regular communication and full training to get you up to speed on systems, standards, and sector-specific details – all while you work from home.
