BI Developer
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan, install, configure, administer, and maintain the SQL Data Warehouse

Design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions, reports, and dashboards

Build clear, accurate operational reporting and visualisations that support day-to-day decision-making

Investigate and resolve data reporting issues quickly and effectively

Work closely with developers and business analysts to improve slow-running queries and reporting performance

Recommend practical improvements that strengthen reporting quality and efficiency

Provide technical support for BI incidents and service requests, including diagnosis, resolution, or escalation where needed

Help keep customer satisfaction high by resolving BI-related issues professionally and promptly

Coach and mentor junior team members where required

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Data Warehouse developer or BI Developer role

Hands-on experience designing, preparing, configuring, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining BI solutions

Strong analytical ability and excellent problem-solving skills

Very good attention to detail

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Good interpersonal skills and the confidence to work across technical and business teams

Strong planning and organisational ability

Reliable, self-motivated, committed, and trustworthy

Ability to work in a fast-paced, largely unsupervised environment

Willingness to handle occasional after-hours work when required

Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality and maturity

Matric is essential

Tertiary education or relevant BI/data certifications will be an advantage
