Job Title: Associate QA Lead (Path to Lead)
Salary: R27,000 – R30,000 per month Gross (Dependent on initial training phase)
Location: Johannesburg (Hybrid: 2 days in-office for collaboration & audits, 3 days remote)
Reports To: Executive Committee (ExCo) & Board of Directors
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent
About the Role
Cliqtech is a fast-growing technology business operating in a highly regulated landscape with strict client SLAs. We are looking for an ambitious, process-driven Associate QA Lead to step into a highly visible role.
This is an execution-focused position, not a policy-drafting one (our legal and ISO 27001 compliance policies are fully handled by our Compliance Lead). Your mission is to be our operational “ground-truth”—taking our compliance frameworks and turning them into real-world, day-to-day departmental checks. This role is a unique career accelerator, offering you direct mentorship and a clear path to fully owning the QA department while presenting directly to the Board of Directors.
Key Responsibilities 1. Departmental Process Auditing
- Conduct systematic quality audits across all internal Cliqtech departments (including Dev-to-Ops handoffs, Sales, and Account Management) to identify process gaps or lack of internal controls.
- Transition the company out of historical, “ad-hoc” manager checks into a centralised, airtight auditing rhythm.
2. SOP Creation & Standardisation
- Sit with departmental teams to map out workflows and write clear, structured Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for areas of the business where processes are currently undocumented.
- Continuously enhance existing operational processes to keep Cliqtech running at the highest possible execution standard.
3. Hands-on Daily Execution
- Build functional checklists, risk matrices, and quality control routines.
- Roll up your sleeves and perform the actual, day-to-day manual testing and verification checks yourself to ensure teams are actively following the new SOPs.
4. SLA & Performance Safeguarding
- Actively monitor operational outputs to catch and correct human or system errors before they can impact our clients or breach strict contractual SLAs.
5. High-Profile Board Reporting
- Translate daily QA data, error rates, and department scores into clean, high-impact visibility reports.
- Present performance findings directly to the Executive level and the Board of Directors, ensuring the business proves its operational integrity.
Profile Requirements: The 3-Tier Skill Hierarchy 1. Must-Have (The Non-Negotiables)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience as a QA Specialist, Process Auditor, or Operations Analyst within a corporate environment.
- Exceptional Technical Writing Skills: Proven ability to draft clear, logical step-by-step SOPs, process policies, and checklists from scratch.
- Strong Assertiveness & Integrity: High administrative discipline with the confidence to professionally hold internal department heads accountable to quality standards.
2. Important (Great Advantages)
- Prior experience working within a technology, digital operations, or software environment.
- Basic familiarity with how development teams deploy to operational teams (DevOps frameworks) and client-facing service level agreements (SLAs).
3. Nice-to-Have (Bonus Points)
- Direct exposure to heavily regulated corporate environments or basic awareness of ISO frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001 foundations).
- Note: No software coding or automation scripting background is required for this role.
What’s in it for you?
- Johannesburg Hybrid Freedom: Save on fuel, e-tolls, and commute fatigue with a balanced 2-day office / 3-day remote structure.
- Direct C-Suite & Board Mentorship: Get rare, boardroom-level exposure early in your management career, learning how to present metrics to top executives.
- Upskilling & Growth: Step out of a standard “box-ticking” role and learn how to build a corporate quality ecosystem from the ground up alongside established internal financial auditors and compliance leader
