Purpose The account manager is responsible for handling various client accounts in a company. The account manager must build and maintain a strong relationship with the client. They will be the lead point of contact for all client matters, anticipate the client’s needs, work within the company to ensure deadlines for the client are met, and help the client succeed. The account manager will also work towards a sales target with their main focus on increased business from existing clients.

Duties · Manage a portfolio of Accounts by developing a growth strategy with each customer focused both on financial gain for the company and customer satisfaction · Analyse and explore customer behaviour, ordering trends and future plans to insure the company is able to plan and produce products on time as well as capitalize on new product opportunities with the customer. · Provide Weekly/Monthly Reports to Management · Deliver on Key Performance Indicators based on role objectives, including but not limited to Existing Business Sales Targets and brand GPs. · Report on appointments and customer opportunities to management on a weekly basis. · Anticipate key account changes and improvements · Strategic planning to improve client results · Keep management informed of all orders obtained while out on customer visits. · Keep CRM system updated to insure accurate weekly forecasting. · Drive for 3month production forecasts and pre-orders from existing customers. · Receive handover of new clients and related products correctly, effectively and efficiently from new business team · Ensure clients are administered and logged into the ERP System. · Consult customers and shape opportunities to optimize the value we offer. · Maintain and grow the allocated customer base. · Promote existing and new products as well as specials to existing customers. · Assess each customer’s specific needs and fulfil those requirements. · Demonstrate products and explain the difference between our products and competitor products. · When advised of deliveries in certain areas, follow up with other customers in those areas to increase the amount of sales being delivered to that particular area. · Ensure that the sales etiquette is maintained at all-time · Ensure competition is monitored within the market and gather information on prices, product quality and product popularity. · Check with Logistics on product stock levels to ensure clients could be informed on availability and delivery schedules. · Ensure prices and quotations are in accordance with the Brand Sales Price Policy. · Ensure an updated list of existing clients as well as their sales history is kept up to date ensuring a profile buildup can be done. · Build long term relationships with existing customers · Receive and take ownership of all new client handovers from the Business Development team, ensuring a smooth and structured transition into operations. · Assist in the roll out of the brand marketing plan as required. · Arrange customer demo days and participate in expo’s with customers for marketing purposes (On weekends if required) ·

Skills Required · NSC/Matric; Bcom Degree advantageous · Previous work experience in sales, management, key account management, or relevant experience · Proven results of delivering client solutions and meeting sales goals; · Basic computer skills, and experience with CRM software and the Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on superior Excel and Powerpoint skills.
