What You’ll Do at a Glance

1. Oversee and review payments, payroll, and reconciliations with precision.

2. Manage insurance policies to ensure comprehensive coverage.

3. Collaborate with subcontractors and cross-functional teams for seamless processes.

4. Prepare management accounts, cashflow forecasts, and board packs.

5. Drive new financial projects and innovations.

6. Provide critical support for recruitment and ad-hoc tasks within the department.

 

Key Responsibilities

Payments:

● Conduct daily and monthly reviews of documents submitted for payment.

● Verify the accuracy and completeness of all documents, ensuring no duplicates or outstanding payments.

● Ensure all payments are processed by the due date.

Insurance:

● Review insurance policies to ensure comprehensive coverage.

● Manage updates to asset coverage under insurance policies.

Sub-Contractors:

● Reconcile and verify subcontractor payment sheets, ensuring accuracy in insurance recovery and banking details.

● Match subcontractor payments with online banking profiles.

Payroll:

● Oversee and sign off on payroll submissions, ensuring accurate capture of employee benefits and incentives.

Electronic Reporting System (ERS):

Monthly Locker Recons:

Management Accounts:

● Conduct monthly reviews and prepare management accounts, ensuring readiness for audit and executive review.

EXCO/Board Pack Preparation:

● Assist in preparing comprehensive and accurate packs for executive and board meetings.

Cashflow Forecasts:

● Assist in the preparation and daily management of cashflow forecasts, ensuring financial stability.

Project Management:

● Oversee financial aspects of new projects, ensuring accurate setup and execution in line with project plans.

Recruitment in Finance Department:

● Support the recruitment process by ensuring proper documentation and onboarding processes.

Adhoc Duties:

● Provide cross-functional support within the finance department as needed.

 

What You’ll Bring

● Qualifications: BCom Accounting Degree, SAICA Articles completed, and professional accounting accreditation such as SAIPA or SAIBA

● Experience: Minimum 5 years post-articles experience, preferably in a smaller audit firm with at least 2 years in an Accountant role

● Skills: High attention to detail, strong organisational and time management skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
