Position overview
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain operations, including procurement, inventory management, logistics, and distribution. This role ensures operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and seamless coordination across various functions to meet business objectives. The ideal candidate will have strong strategic vision, leadership skills, and experience in supply chain management

Key Responsibilities:
1. Supply Chain Strategy and Planning: The duties shall include but not be limited to:
1.1 Develop a comprehensive supply chain strategy and plan aligned with business objectives.
1.2 Implement risk management strategies to mitigate supply chain disruptions.

2. Procurement: The duties shall include but not be limited to:
2.1 Oversee procurement, sourcing, and supplier management to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance.
2.2 Manage procurement, inventory, logistics, and distribution processes to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency.

3. Inventory Management: The duties shall include but not be limited to:
3.1 Optimize inventory management processes to minimize waste and enhance efficiency.

4. Risk Management: The duties shall include but not be limited to:
4.1 Identify and mitigate potential legal risks, advising the leadership team on risk exposure.

5. Manage Logistics: The duties shall include but not be limited to:
5.1 Manage logistics and distribution to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
5.2 Assist managing potential legal disputes, protecting the company from prolonged legal battles.

6. Collaboration: The duties shall include but not be limited to:
6.1 Collaboration with internal teams, including production, sales, and finance, to ensure seamless supply chain operations.

7. Process Improvement and best practice: The duties shall include but not be limited to:
7.1 Drive process improvements and implement best practices in supply chain management.
7.2 Leverage technology and data analytics to enhance supply chain visibility and decision-making.

8. Reporting: The duties shall include but not be limited to:
8.1 Drive process improvements and implement best practices in supply chain management.

9. Compliance: The duties shall include but not be limited to:
9.1 Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
9.2 Enforcing Health & Safety compliance.

10. Leadership: The duties shall include but not be limited to:
10.1 Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team.

Education and Experience
• Matric, NQF equivalent or NQF Level 4 or higher.
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 2 – 3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of procurement, logistics, inventory control, and distribution.
• Experience with ERP systems and supply chain management software.
• Knowledge of ISO principles will be advantageous.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation will be advantageous.
