Job Details

We are a leading mid- to high-resolution earth observation camera supplier for CubeSats and small satellites for companies from around the globe.

Job Purpose

Ensure the accuracy and reliability of aerospace measurement instruments through precise calibration and maintenance.

Key Performance Areas and Responsibilities

Collaboration and Communication

  • Perform spectral and radiometric measurements to ensure all products meet specifications.

Incoming Inspection

  • Inspect and measure delivered optical parts according to specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspection results, including inspection reports and logs

Characterisation

  • Capture characterization datasets used to calibrate the products radiometrically and geometrically.
  • Collect and analyse data to produce reports and optimized recommendations for cross-functional teams.

Compliance and Safety

  • Ensure all instruments meet set safety and quality standards.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines during all processes.

 

Required Qualifications

  • National Diploma (or equivalent) in Metrology, Photometry, Physics or Radiometry

Required Experience

  • Previous experience in spectral and radiometric measurements.
  • Previous experience in operating delicate measuring equipment.
  • Strong understanding of calibration principles.
  • Windows and MS Office capable

Required Technical Competencies

  • Handling and Adjusting Delicate Instruments: The candidate will be responsible for the precise manipulation and adjustment of sensitive equipment, ensuring optimal performance and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Spectroscopy Concepts: Understanding and applying photonics or spectroscopy principles will be essential for tasks involving light-based technologies as we build advanced measurement systems.
  • Microsoft Office: The candidate must be experienced in Word and performing calculations using formulas in Excel.
  • Python Software: Proficiency in Python will be a bonus.
  • Ability to follow processes and procedures to the letter.
  • Ability to work independently and with cross-disciplinary engineering.
