INHERENT REQUIREMENTS (Education, Skills, & Knowledge)
- Degree/ Diploma in Payroll Administration/Finance Management preferred
- Minimum 5 years working experience on SAGE PEOPLE 300 preferred
- Minimum 2 years supervising and leading a team of payroll administrators is essential
- Experience in processing multiple payrolls essential
- Strong multinational tax knowledge essential (RSA, Botswana, Lesotho, Eswathini, Namibia)
- Skills and overall proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Google Suite essential
- SAP experience preferred
- Deadline-driven with strong organizational abilities essential
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as the first point of contact for Payroll administrators to resolve queries and escalate to Payroll Manager if unable to resolve.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve payroll processes and procedures
- Review payments for Payroll Manager to sign-off
- Prepare and consolidate statutory returns for Payroll Manager to sign-off (Africa & RSA)
- Support the Payroll Manager as a Subject-Matter-Expert on Tax, Accounting and System related requirements for payroll (RSA, Botswana, Lesotho, Eswathini, Namibia)
- Review variance reports in preparation for final payroll sign-off by the Payroll Manager
- Assist Payroll Manager with the internal and external payroll audits across all RSA & African entities
- Co-ordinate payroll activities to maintain accuracy and timeliness
