Position Summary and Primary Objectives
The Finance Clerk is a key member of the Finance team. They will be responsible for providing accurate and efficient support in various finance and administrative tasks.
Roles and Responsibilities
Accounts Payable Processing
- Process accounts payable transactions accurately and efficiently; including capturing supplier invoices.
- Maintain and file supplier invoices.
- Reconcile invoices to supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies.
- Update cash requirements schedule for month-end supplier payments.
- Load monthly as well as ad hoc supplier payments.
- Load employee reimbursements.
Accounts Receivable Processing
- Process monthly bill run and send invoices and statement to customers.
- Process credit notes and send to customer along with updated statement.
- Collect payment on accounts.
- Ensure queries on accounts are resolved through discussion with necessary stakeholders.
- Follow up on overdue accounts and ensure customer suspension and handover process are followed.
Financial Records Assistance
- Ensure accurate data entry for all transactions.
- Maintain master file data and ensure accurate data entry for all new customers and suppliers.
- Process and reconcile bank accounts on a daily process.
- Assist with month-end closing procedures including processing journal entries.
Administrative Support
- Provide administrative support to the finance department, including answering phone calls and responding to emails.
Skill Requirements and Personal Attributes
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience as a Finance Clerk or similar role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicaye effectively.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.
