Roles and Responsibilties

  • Active directory user management.
  • Maintaining procedural documentation.
  • Assistance with Support escalations.
  • Daily Infrastructure health checks.
  • Active system monitoring.
  • Configuration, patching and maintenance of Infrastructure and Software (VMware and VEEAM).
  • Monthly support and maintenance evaluation and actioning.
  • License and Web certificate renewals and implementations.
  • Installing, monitoring and utilising VEEAM for customer and internal data management.
  • Logging of support/ maintenance tickets with hardware and software vendors.
  • Maintain a solid understanding of the Saicom-Private-Cloud, Data Management and Public Cloud Environments- including networking, software, hardware and cloud offerings.
  • Creating and maintaining vApp and VM templates for fast deployment within the Saicom-Private-Cloud environment.
  • Installation and maintenance of new hardware equipment, cabling, labeling and rack space.
  • Maintenance of IP allocation for CloudOps related infrastructure.
  • Remaining upskilled in areas surrounding our environment.
  • Staff and customer training and demonstration.
  • Customer onboarding- Private Cloud and data management.
  • Customer solution architecture.
  • Identify and investigate new tools and technologies.
  • Monthly infrastructure reporting – Capacity, availability and risk.
  • Scripting and automation.

Skills Requirements and Personal Attributes

  • VCP (VMware Certified Professional).
  • 5-10 years relevant experience preffere.
  • VMCE (VEEAM Certified Engineer) a plus.
  • Networking certification advantageous (CCNA, JNCIA N+ etc).
  • Familiarity with Aria Operations and Aria for logs advantageous.
  • Understanding of hardware firmware updgrade processes.
  • Basic understanding of Kubernetes will be beneficial.
  • Attention to detail and quality of work.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with time constraints.
  • Team oriented.
  • Ability to teach and be taught.
  • Ability to take ownership of projects with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to mentor junior staff members.
