Introduction
IBC SOLAR is a leading global solutions and services provider for photovoltaics and energy storage. Since 1982, the family-owned company has offered complete solutions for electricity generation and storage from the sun. The IBC SOLAR group covers the entire spectrum, from distribution, services and turnkey projects in selected countries.
IBC SOLAR has been operating in South Africa since 2017. The scope of our local business activities is as an integrated solar systems and services provider, wholesale of PV components by distribution through an installer network system in Southern Africa.
To support our growing business, we are looking for a Technical Sales and Product Manager based in the Company’s headquarters in South Africa, reporting to our Management in Cape Town.
Responsibilities
- Technical selling, consultation and support of customers and in respect of the company’s PV products and systems in both – commercial and residential markets.
- Preparation of Quotations, Client Follow Up, Product and Stock Consulting and Order Confirmation to Clients.
- Acquisition and development of new customers in selected provinces and territories
- Responsible for reaching sales and profit targets
- Active support of sales staff in the preparation of sales offers in respect of technical and other aspects.
- Organisation and commencement of regular technical product and system training with clients where new products are introduced or system configurations and commissioning are demonstrated.
- Gaining internal knowledge about new products or updates and changes. Internal processing and presentation in the company’s knowledgebase and training of colleagues.
- Gaining knowledge and being the main contact for questions and training in the company for national and international regulations in respect of the company’s business. Interface work with organisations such as but not limited to SAPVIA, NERSA or ESKOM.
- Preparing PV designs in the company’s design software PV Manager. Commencement of internal and external trainings herein.
- Analyses and Assessment of market and customer requirements for new products and solutions.
- Cooperation and collaboration with the Technical Application Engineers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering ideal
- Experience in the distribution and wholesale sector an advantage
- Knowledge and experience in the solar field is a necessity
- Minimum 3 years of technical experience in the solar industry, preferably in technical sales.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- Outstanding skillset in the interaction with and servicing of customers, as well as the ability to present and negotiate therein.
- Bilingual an advantage
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment
- Ability to organise, prioritise, and effectively multitask daily and meet deadlines
- Assertive, confident and clear communicator – via e-mail, phone and face-to-face
- Highly proficient with desktop applications such as Adobe Acrobat Professional, MS Office environment, including an ability to learn new IT systems
- Frequent travel within the region
- Must have valid state driver’s license
