Ready to drive people strategy and operational excellence in a dynamic, large-scale distribution environment? We’re looking for a senior HR leader to elevate employee experience, capability, and compliance across warehouses, logistics, central distribution, and support divisions nationwide.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead, develop, and mentor a national HR team supporting warehouse, logistics, fleet, and distribution centre operations.

  • Align people and culture strategy with business priorities and distribution network growth.

  • Drive readiness for new depot launches, regional expansions, and system integrations (HRIS, onboarding, talent acquisition) to ensure every site is compliant, engaged, and operationally robust.

  • Champion employee relations, skills development, labour compliance (BCEA, LRA, POPIA), and support transformation (EE, BBBEE, SD) in regulated and unionized environments.

  • Design workforce plans and collaborate with Talent Acquisition to source, onboard, and retain top talent, managing seasonality, high-turnover, and regional skills shortages.

  • Enable a consistent, integrated people experience—embedding culture, transformation, and learning initiatives across distribution locations.

  • Use data and analytics to optimize workforce planning, productivity, and retention in high-volume, distributed sites.

  • Lead digital and systems transformation for people processes, ensuring scalability, compliance, and efficiency from onboarding through to performance management.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organisational Psychology (or similar).

  • MANDATORY 8 years’ HR experience, 5+ years in a senior operations or HRBP leadership role, MUST have experience RETAIL DISTRIBUTION or logistics.

  • Demonstrated success managing large, dispersed workforces and supporting business expansion/growth.

  • Strong expertise in transformation, skills development, and equity legislation.

  • Deep knowledge of SA labour laws and best practice for distribution, logistics, or industrial settings.

  • Commercial acumen and strong stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Data-driven mindset—leveraging people insights to drive process and operational improvements.

  • Leadership skills to motivate distributed teams and develop future HR/business leaders.

Special Conditions:

  • Occasional nationwide travel required.

  • Must be a South African citizen with clear criminal and credit record.

  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.
