Quality Control Manager

Purpose of position:
• To lead the strategy and execution of the Quality Control Department.
• Ensure the Quality Control Department is efficient and effective.
• Ensure the Quality Control Department is capacitated and able to serve the business’ needs.

Roles and responsibilities:
• Take responsibility for customer, supplier or manufacturing complaint investigation and reporting.
• Take responsibility for the complete management of reassessments.
• Ensure shelf life of all materials are updated.
• Provide updates and reports on all QC activities to the Operations Director.
• Ensure incoming packaging materials are tested.
• Assist with training on systems / standards and ensure they are communicated and upheld by all staff and functional environments.
• Ensure accurate and efficient physical and sensory analysis of all incoming raw materials, intermediates and finished products.
• Ensure labels are accurately printed and secured to all materials.
• Verify Allergens in finished products.
• Ensure that all relevant COA documentation is completed and stored (raw material, intermediates and finished goods).
• Ensure instruments and scales are calibrated for the Quality Control Department and Production.
• Conduct QC evaluation as needed.

Requirements & Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering.
• Qualified in Quality Management Systems, Food Safety, Management systems and Health & Safety Management.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Computer skills.
• Report writing skills.
• Technical and application knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, FSSC 22000 and SEDEX requirements.
• Knowledge of industry relevant regulations.
• At least 15 year’s Quality Control experience in the flavour and fragrance industry.
• At least 5 year’s experience in managing a Quality Control team.
