About the Role

Snode Technologies is looking for an allâround AWS Specialist who will be the single pointâofâcontact for designing, assessing and securing customer AWS environments. You will work from our Centurion offices, collaborating with product engineering, and security teams to deliver scalable, highlyâavailable solutions that meet our performance, reliability, and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cloud Architecture: Assess AWS architecture of existing environments. Design and implement AWS environments; assist in customer migration strategies.
  • Network Design & Operations: Configure and maintain VPCs, subnets, routing, NAT, VPN, Direct Connect, and load balancers. Troubleshoot firewall (Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, Arista) and VPN issues.
  • Security & Compliance: Design secure AWS environments using IAM, KMS, Security Hub, Config, GuardDuty, Inspector, WAF, and Security Hub. Conduct threat modeling, risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests. Embed security checks into CI/CD pipelines and enforce policy as code. Assist the product engineering team in transforming all required security checks to the Snode Guardian platform.
  • Monitoring & Reliability: Set up CloudWatch, CloudTrail, CloudWatch Alarms, and EventBridge for operational observability.
  • Documentation & Collaboration: Produce clear, concise technical diagrams and documentation for architecture, security, and operations.
  • On-Site Presence: Work from the Centurion office for all scheduled hours. Participate in in-person meetings, stand-ups, and cross-functional workshops.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Cloud & IaC: 3+ years in Cloud roles; expertise in AWS services, Network & Security services.
  • Networking: Strong foundation in routing, switching, BGP/OSPF, VPN, Direct Connect, firewalls (Cisco, Palo Alto, FortiGate, etc.)
  • Security: 3+ years of AWS security architecture; deep knowledge of IAM, KMS, GuardDuty, Config, Inspector, WAF; 2+ years of Python/TypeScript and security-focused
  • laC. Bonus: experience in Palo Alto stack for monitoring AWS Cloud environments.
  • Programming: Python (primary)
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication; able to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (preferred); AWS DevOps Engineer – Professional (preferred); AWS Certified Security – Specialty (desired)
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Security, or related field (preferred)

Working Conditions:

  • Location: Centurion office – fullâtime, onâsite. 
  • Hours: Monday â Friday 8:00am –â¯5:00pm, occasional evening or weekend work for deployments or incidents. 
  • Physical Demands: Prolonged computer work, occasional lifting of up to 15â¯lb. 
  • Travel: Minimal, with occasional visits to client sites.
