Forklift Technician

Opportunity to join an independently owned company based in Cape Town, South Africa. We are an equipment rental, sales and service company offering a range of forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and  telehandlers. We have extensive experience in the powered access industry and have worked and advised on a great variety of projects. Powered access equipment is designed to enable people to work safely, productively and comfortably at height. It can be used in a comprehensive range of applications, both inside and outside buildings and structures. Our team are always available to offer friendly advice and guidance either by phone or on site.  Our passion is to provide our customers with the right equipment for the right height at the right price.

DUTIES:

• Repair and maintain a fleet of forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, telehandlers and vehicles
• Interpret manufacturers manuals
• Troubleshoot problems to include mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems
• Detect imperfections, potential problems, safety issues and/or malfunctions
• Ensure equipment remains safe and operational
• Conducting part inventories
• Performing and executing preventative maintenance tasks
• Receiving and executing service requests timeously
• Documenting services performed
• Ordering additional specialty and forklift parts once approved

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have a valid Certified Technical (CFT) certificate or Red Seal
• Prior relevant working experience – minimum of 10 years
• Good communication skills in English
