Job Details
As a CNC Press Brake Operator, you will be responsible for setting-up, operating and maintaining Press Brake machines to produce accurate bends on various steel materials.
JOB TITLE/ POSITION: CNC PRESS BRAKE OPERATOR
REPORTING TO: FOREMAN (DIRECT)
OPERTIONS MANAGER (INDIRECT)
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Machine Set-Up:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, and job cards to understand bending requirements.
- Set up and calibrate bending machines based on job specifications.
- Ensure proper alignment and positioning of tooling for the machine.
Machine Operation:
- Operate bending machines to bend metal according to defined angles, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Monitor machine operations to detect any deviations from specifications and make necessary adjustments.
- Ensure the quality of finished products by conducting regular inspections.
Machine Handling:
- Load and unload materials into/from the bending machine.
- Arrange materials in accordance with the job order.
Quality Control
- Inspect finished products and make adjustments to ensure parts meet quality standards and specifications.
Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance on bending machines to ensure proper functioning.
- Troubleshoot and address minor issues with the machine to minimize downtime.
Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Documentation:
- Record production data, defect details, machine maintenance details and any adjustments made during the manufacturing process and report any issues or deviations from specifications to the foreman.
REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience:
- High school matric imperative.
- Technical training or 2 years machine operation experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with various types of bending machines.
- Experience using CNC technology preferred.
Skills:
- Willing to work 6am – 6pm shift rotations / night shift.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Must have computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail and precision.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
