Drive the reliability and efficiency of critical assets at a major site through structured maintenance planning and scheduling. This role demands precision in managing enterprise asset management systems to support seamless operations across plant, equipment, and infrastructure.
About the Role
Provide proactive maintenance planning and administrative support for all assets, plant, and equipment at the site. Key focus areas include multi-year forecasting, CMMS operations, coordination with production priorities, and leadership of the planning function to enhance equipment performance, safety, and cost efficiencies. Operate autonomously under engineering oversight, influencing long-range planning and daily execution for heavy mobile vehicles, mobile equipment, process plant, and site facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the equipment register in the CMMS, ensuring accuracy, and manage updates via change management procedures.
- Handle work identification: create and review work requests, escalate emergencies, and secure approvals to generate work orders.
- Plan and cost work orders, distinguishing standard and non-standard jobs, and obtain necessary approvals per delegation of authority.
- Develop and update monthly, weekly, and daily schedules, monitor backlogs, and coordinate resource reservations including parts and labor.
- Track work execution, update statuses daily, manage backlogs, and adjust schedules based on foreman input.
- Close out work orders with full feedback, deviations analysis, and documentation archiving.
- Manage parts master lists, BOMs, critical spares, and support stores with kitting and stock processes.
- Lead long-term planning: develop 3-5 year major maintenance plans, annual master plans aligned to production, and optimize strategies like RCM and PdM.
- Produce performance reports, chair planning meetings, and support departmental reviews.
- Supervise data clerks, maintain technical library, train backups, and handle related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School (Grade 12) and formal engineering/technical or trade qualification (mandatory).
- Maintenance Planning & Scheduling Training Certificate (APICS CPIM recommended) and advanced Microsoft Office skills (mandatory).
- 5 years relevant operational experience including 2 years supervisory; 3 years maintenance trade; 3-5 years maintenance planning.
- Strong computer literacy (MS Windows, Office, Project), CMMS familiarity, mining equipment knowledge, and administrative skills.
- Working team leader capabilities, with communication, planning, analytical, and detail-oriented behavioral skills.
- Fit for plant work and available for overtime.
