Area Manager

You’ll be the operational backbone of our franchise group – the person who turns plans into reality across our network of fast-paced, healthy quick-service restaurants. This isn’t about grand ideas or strategy documents gathering dust. It’s about making sure what should happen actually happens, every single day, across every store.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

Process Discipline: Ensure store systems and checklists are genuinely followed, not just filed away. Follow up on incomplete tasks with firmness and fairness, helping managers execute the basics consistently.

Numbers & Variance Tracking: Review food cost and stock reports with a critical eye. Identify variances early, investigate patterns before they become problems, and spot the issues others miss.

Closing Loops: Track maintenance issues, stock problems, and operational hiccups from start to finish. If something isn’t done, it’s yours until it is. Maintain simple, clear tracking logs that actually get used.

Store Visits & Support: Visit stores regularly to observe, guide, and support managers. Build confidence through doing the basics well, not through complicated theories.

THE KIND OF PERSON WE NEED

You’re naturally detail-oriented and structured. You notice what’s missing before anyone has to point it out. Numbers don’t intimidate you – they tell you a story. You follow up without being asked, hold people accountable without creating drama, and take ownership rather than making excuses. You’re uncomfortable when things are incomplete or floating in limbo. And you genuinely want to grow into operations leadership, not just clock hours.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

After three to six months, nothing important is drifting or forgotten. Managers follow systems because you follow up. Variances are caught early. Maintenance issues get resolved quickly. Stores feel more in control, not more stressed. You’ve brought order to a genuinely busy environment.

YOUR TYPICAL DAY

Visit a store and check if systems are actually being followed. Follow up on missed actions – again if needed. Investigate a stock or food cost variance. Track a maintenance problem to completion. Support a manager who’s struggling. Deal with real-time issues as they pop up. Some days flow smoothly. Some are messier. Retail doesn’t pause, and neither do you.

THE FIT

You’ll work across our 11-store network in the Ballito and Durban areas – own transport is essential – and you’ll grow into genuine operations leadership with a salary of R15,000–R25,000 based on experience.

Bring your follow-through, your attention to detail, and your hunger for turning intention into measurable results.
