Regional Commercial Lead – Capital / Industrial Equipment

You’ll be the commercial bridge between cutting-edge meat processing equipment and the businesses that need it. This role demands someone who genuinely understands the technical side of FMCG production and can translate that knowledge into compelling customer conversations that actually close deals.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage the complete customer experience, addressing concerns promptly and building lasting relationships that drive repeat business

Conduct product demonstrations at facilities and customer sites, showcasing equipment capabilities with confidence and technical expertise

Develop tailored commercial solutions based on customer requirements and their growth trajectories

Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through strategic prospecting and cold calling campaigns

Build and execute sales strategies for specific OEM offerings, targeting prospective customers and high-potential markets

Liaise between technical support teams and customers from initial concept through to commercial close-out

Collaborate with internal partners across spices, workshops, and finance to deliver comprehensive, solution-driven partnerships

Stay ahead of new product developments and market trends within the capital equipment sector

Hit sales targets consistently whilst maintaining strong financial management throughout the sales process

Minimum 5 years’ proven success in technical sales, particularly with capital or industrial equipment

Solid understanding of FMCG production principles, with specific knowledge of meat processing

Strong technical background (technical qualification preferred)

Sales diploma or degree is a real advantage

Excellent communication and persuasion skills – you can convey complex product benefits clearly

Confidence and assertiveness to negotiate and close deals effectively

Strong administrative and organisational abilities, including reporting, planning, and scheduling

Financial acumen to manage sales processes and budgets effectively

Relationship management skills with genuine commitment to resolving customer concerns

Willingness to travel extensively across the region

THE ROLE

You’ll report to the Special Projects Manager and cover the Western Cape region whilst supporting the Eastern Cape. You’ll be the technical expert customers trust and the sales professional who understands their business challenges deeply enough to recommend solutions that actually work.
