Job Details

Role Purpose

Maximise sales to meet monthly sales and development targets within the agreed territory and sector, and build solid customer relationships to ensure retention and sustained account growth.

 

Organisational Positioning

Key Interfaces: Sales Manager; Repair Centre team; Workshop and Technicians; Hire Desk; Finance and Credit Control; existing and prospective customers; suppliers and OEM partners.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Maximise sales within the agreed territory and sector to meet monthly and annual targets.
  2. Develop and grow market share through active customer prospecting, retention, and cross-sell.
  3. Ensure timely and accurate sales administration and reporting against agreed templates and deadlines.
  4. Maintain and update the CRM system daily/weekly with customer information and competitor activity.
  5. Build and maintain strong customer relationships; ensure service quality through aftersales follow-through.
  6. Uphold professional conduct and compliance: brand representation, safety, legal, and confidentiality obligations.

Technical Skills & Tools

  • CRM system proficiency (Microsoft Dynamics 365 or equivalent) [Required]
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) [Required]
  • Knowledge of MEWP and material handling equipment (scissor lifts, boom lifts, telehandlers, forklifts) [Required]
  • Understanding of rental industry commercial models (hire rates, utilisation, transport costing) [Required]
  • Valid Code B driver’s licence and own reliable transport [Required]

 

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Monthly sales target attainment (%).
  • Number of new accounts opened per month.
  • Sales pipeline coverage (3x quota benchmark) and conversion rate.
  • CRM data completeness and update frequency compliance.
  • Customer retention / satisfaction (NPS or survey score).
  • Timeliness and accuracy of administrative tasks and reports.

 

Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Grade 12 / Matric [Required]
  • Sales Diploma or equivalent qualification [Preferred]

Experience

  • 4 years’ sales experience in a corporate or semi-corporate B2B environment [Required]
  • Proven record of increasing revenue and growing market share [Required]
  • Mining, construction, or industrial sector exposure [Preferred]

Language Requirements

  • English (fluent, verbal and written) [Required]
  • Afrikaans (fluent, verbal and written) [Preferred]

 

Working Conditions

Travel

60–70% of time; regular customer site visits across assigned territory

Physical Demands

Minimal; primarily office and customer-site based

Hours

Standard office hours with occasional after-hours customer engagement

Location Type

Branch office with significant field travel
