MIS Analyst CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Get under the skin of complex data, shape it into powerful models, and turn it into clear, consistent reporting that senior stakeholders rely on every day.
  • Analyse and interpret data from multiple operational and financial systems to create integrated, unified views for decision-making
  • Work hands-on with large, complex SQL Server databases to maintain data quality, integrity, and accessibility
  • Design, develop, and maintain OLAP and/or Tabular Model Cubes in a SQL environment (SQL Server 2010 or higher) to support high-speed analytical queries
  • Propose and implement optimised data schemas and data flows to improve performance and scalability across the BI environment
  • Engage directly with leadership and teams across the business to understand, document, and maintain a complete set of reporting requirements
  • Lead the design, build, and rollout of new BI reports and interactive dashboards based on defined business needs
  • Review and modernise legacy reports, standardising metrics and streamlining reporting to create a single version of the truth
  • Administer and maintain core BI tools and infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration with all key data sources
  • Act as BI system administrator, overseeing access, availability, and stability of reporting platforms

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bring strong technical depth, sharp commercial thinking, and proven experience in BI within a data-rich, regulated environment like insurance or financial services.
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant certificate in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Business Intelligence development, data analysis, or a similar quantitative role
  • Solid experience with data warehouse concepts, design, and implementation
  • Expert-level SQL skills with large, complex SQL Server databases
  • Advanced user and developer experience with Microsoft Power BI; exposure to the wider Microsoft ecosystem (such as PowerApps) is an advantage
  • Strong understanding of database management systems, OLAP, and ETL frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with SSRS for structured reporting and SSIS for data movement and transformation
  • Background in the Insurance or broader Financial Services industry is highly advantageous
