Job Details

A leading education institution is looking for a Campus General Manager to ensure the effective overall management of a campus in order to provide outstanding service delivery and academic leadership. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Financial (Profit and loss, expense target (salaries costs), returning business targets) 
  • Customer experience and support (satisfaction rates/net promoter score, etc, student retention and student success) 
  • Marketing (community engagement & brand representative – visibility, product offering suggestions) 
  • Accreditation and programme management and compliance 
  • SLA management 
  • Campus budget management.  
  • Campus operational planning – targets, objectives, priorities, schedules, projects. 
  • Operational implementation and execution monitoring – control, corrective action. 
  • Reporting. 
  • Problem solving and decision quality, including escalations, queries, and complaints. 
  • Campus resource and capacity management (people, equipment, systems, allocation of resources / workload and workflow monitoring – presentable campus.  
  • Campus operational efficiency – refine campus processes through constant process evaluation / alignment with National. 
  • Governance and compliance / Risk management.  
  • Campus strategy in collaboration with National functions. 
    • Talent acquisition and onboarding. 
    • Individual performance – role clarity and objectives; reviews; feedback; corrective actions. 
    • Succession / bench strength.  
    • Skill levels – training & development / coaching & mentoring. 
    • Change capability – resilience, flexibility, adaptability. 
    • Remuneration. 
  • Internal and external stakeholder engagement and management / collaboration

 REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Relevant postgraduate qualification, preferably commerce (an undergraduate qualification may be considered for candidates with a proven track record of relevant experience 
  • At least five years’ management experience in a higher education environment 
  • Commercial knowledge and skills – understand profit and loss statements and the key drivers of income and expenses 
  • Matrix management know-how 
  • SLA management skills and know-how 
  • Good understanding regarding the development and maintenance of a high-performance culture 
  • Good understanding of customer experience principles and its impact on student success and student experience 
  • Good understanding of academic processes and regulatory frameworks, as well as academic products and product development processes
