SCOPE OF WORK

 

  • Plan projects and ensure they are programmed to a level of detail necessary for the site team to deliver the scheme without delays.
  • Ensure procurement and reconciliation of materials is carried out in accordance with Company procedures to best value and to prevent delays.
  • Ensure site team compliance with Company commercial policies and procedures.
  • Attend tender handover meetings and deliver pre-start meetings to the site team.
  • Ensure a commercial plan and end of life forecast is in place and monitored monthly for the successful commercial delivery of the project.
  • Produce and analyses progress reports, updated costs, and forecasts.
  • Ensure correct commercial engagement of subcontractors.
  • Implement the risk management process, review risk register and check risk controls.
  • Complete and distribute the Contract Initiation/Completion form for each project.
  • Ensure weekly review of progress, budget resources and forward planning are carried out, and lookahead programmers are in place.
  • Chair and attend internal and external meetings and ensure the production of accurate records of any discussions and actions.
  • Ensure timely management of both temporary and permanent design to meet the requirements of each project.
  • Collaborated with Safety Consultants and Officers, regarding Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Collaborated with local authorities to manage community initiatives
  • Experience in managing a Civils team and Earthworks team,
  • Managing logistics on site to use all earthworks machines to full capacity,
  • Managing contractor interfacing and planning of schedules to ensure all contractors on site work simultaneously to achieve targets,
  • Civil and Earthworks experience on a Solar Farm project would be preferable,
  • Capable to manage a number of small teams effectively,
  • Liaise with Senior Management on a day to day basis and report on project schedules,
  • Compile Daily Diaries, Site Instructions, and all other day to day paperwork,
  • Keep all paperwork in order to assist with the QC requirements of the project,
  • Effectively manage time and people to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly targets.

  • Drive quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques including management of quality assurance and control in your work area

  • Keep up to date with ongoing marketing efforts that the competition may be utilizing and ensuring that their businesses’ clients are satisfied with their current contracts and that those contracts are up to date.
  • Maintain the contractual documentation and records, customer correspondence, status reports and other relevant documents pertaining to the project to which they are assigned.

Qualifications

  • BTech in Civil Engineering or similar
  • Minimum grade 12 (Matric)
  • Must be Computer literate (Microsoft office – Word, Excel & Outlook)
  • Registered as Professional Project Manager with SACPCMP.

Experience

  • Over 10 years’ vast experience working on roads and earthworks projects in a similar capacity.
  • Registered as Professional Project Manager with SACPCMP
  • Minimum of 5 years’ construction management experience in construction sites or housing development
