Billings Operations Manager

A high-volume billing environment, multiple revenue streams, complex reconciliations, and data flying in from every direction – that’s where this Billings Operations Manager steps in and brings real order to the chaos. This role owns the end-to-end billing operations engine, shaping how revenue is billed, controlled, reported, and improved across the business.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Take full ownership of billing operations and keep everything running smoothly and accurately.

Lead, organise, and continuously improve day-to-day billing operational processes

Analyse billing data and reports to track performance, spot gaps, and proactively surface risks

Reconcile and synchronise data between multiple operational systems, tools, and platforms

Maintain accurate financial records and drive timely, complete month-end group billing close

Identify, log, and escalate system issues; represent billing at IT and project forums to push resolution and enhancements

Implement and maintain stringent controls that are practical, auditable, and fit for purpose

Act as key liaison between billing, finance, operations, IT, and external stakeholders

Plan and execute monthly billing strategies aligned to improving collections and cash flow

Prioritise departmental objectives and develop resource plans, workload allocation, and capacity management

Resolve operational billing issues quickly and design mitigation plans to prevent recurrence

Serve as subject matter expert on billing for projects, system changes, and new product or service rollouts

REQUIREMENTS

Solid operational and analytical muscle, plus a calm head under pressure, will go a long way here.

B Degree or Diploma in Business, Operations Management, or a related field

Proven experience in an operations manager or billing operations leadership role

Advanced MS Office skills, especially MS Excel (complex formulas, reporting, analysis)

Strong report writing skills with the ability to turn data into clear, actionable insights

Excellent verbal and written communication across all levels of the business

Proven track record in team and stakeholder management in fast-paced environments

Strong reconciliation, numerical, and conceptual thinking skills
