CIVIL ENGINEER/CIVIL ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGIST

Professional Engineer/Technologist (Pr Eng/Pr Tech Eng) — Municipal Civil Infrastructure

Irene, Pretoria  |  Full-time, permanent |  Reports to Director / Principal Engineer

THE ROLE

Take technical leadership of AFI Consult’s municipal infrastructure design work — Municipal and building civils, Bulk and internal water, Bulk and internal sewer, Urban and rural roads, Stormwater drainage pipes and structures, Water and Wastewater treatment — from feasibility through to construction administration. Act as Pr Eng/Pr Tech Eng of record, sign off designs and drawings, lead client relationships, and mentor a team of design engineers, technicians and candidate engineers on their path to ECSA registration.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Pr Eng/Pr Tech Eng registration with ECSA — current and in good standing (mandatory)
• BEng / BSc (Eng)/BTech Eng in Civil Engineering from an ECSA-accredited institution
• 5+ years’ post-qualification civil engineering experience, as a senior design or technical leadership role
• Track record delivering Municipal Civil infrastructure projects from concept to construction close-out
• Comfortable in a small-firm environment — hands-on at every level, with a genuine interest in developing junior and candidate engineers
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to project sites
