Digital Printer

A manufacturing environment requires accurate, consistent digital print output and close control of files, equipment and quality. This role supports production by operating digital printing equipment, preparing customer artwork and maintaining printing standards across each job.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Operate the digital printing machine and use computer software to process print jobs
  • Download, adjust, process and prepare customer artwork and files for production
  • Check customer files carefully to confirm accuracy and print readiness before printing
  • Monitor print quality throughout production and maintain required standards
  • Manage colour, ink and other print settings to achieve consistent output
  • Make printer and computer interface adjustments for different print sizes, materials, weights and layout requirements
  • Carry out routine maintenance, cleaning and basic servicing of the digital printer
  • Troubleshoot print-related issues and resolve minor equipment breakdowns where possible
  • Keep the printer and work area clean, organised and safe
  • Follow company safety, quality and operational procedures
  • Work with other departments to help meet production requirements and deadlines

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • N4 Technical Qualification or equivalent
  • Previous experience operating digital printing equipment
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
  • Strong computer literacy, including image-editing and relevant design software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Publisher, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop and InDesign
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on quality
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels
  • Ability to be appropriately assertive when required
  • Proven punctuality and attendance record
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Reliable, honest, self-motivated and accountable
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness and availability to work overtime when operationally required

Experience in a plastics manufacturing or packaging environment
