Enterprise Cloud Architect – Azure (FortiGate & Networking Focus)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Enterprise Cloud Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of Azure-based cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure (8+ years), strong FortiGate firewall and networking capabilities, and a track record of delivering secure, scalable, and high-performance cloud solutions across large enterprise environments.

Minimum Requirements

• Certifications (MANDATORY):
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500)
• Cloud Experience:
• 8+ years of hands-on Azure experience
• 10–15 years of relevant IT infrastructure and architecture experience
• Strong background in enterprise networking, network security, and firewall architecture
• Deep expertise in FortiGate firewall design, deployment, and integration in cloud environments
• Experience with Azure Virtual WAN (VWAN) highly advantageous
• Tertiary Education:
• Formal tertiary qualification is not compulsory, but relevant certifications and practical experience are essential

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and design scalable, secure, and resilient Azure-based enterprise cloud environments
• Define and implement Azure networking architectures, including NSGs, VNets, ExpressRoute, and VWAN
• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot FortiGate firewalls within Azure and hybrid environments
• Ensure optimal performance, availability, and security of cloud infrastructure
• Collaborate with DevOps, Security, and Application teams to define and implement cloud governance and security controls
• Guide enterprise cloud adoption strategies, migration roadmaps, and modernization initiatives
• Stay up to date with industry trends and Microsoft’s cloud technology roadmap
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and architecture guidance to project teams
• Conduct regular reviews of architecture frameworks, design patterns, and policies

Technical Competencies

• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates)
• In-depth knowledge of Azure Monitor, Azure Security Center, Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud
• Expert-level understanding of Azure Identity & Access Management (IAM), RBAC, Azure AD
• Proficient in designing secure hybrid networking solutions with Fortinet appliances
• Advanced troubleshooting and performance tuning across cloud networking layers

Preferred (Nice to Have)

• Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architectures (e.g., AWS, GCP)
• Experience with Zero Trust Architecture principles
• Familiarity with SD-WAN, VPN Gateways, Private Link, and Hub-Spoke topology in Azure
• Knowledge of scripting (PowerShell, Python)
