Purpose of the Role
The Sales Director is responsible for leading, planning, and executing Growth Ten’s national sales strategy to drive enrolment growth, expand market share, strengthen institutional partnerships, and ensure revenue targets are achieved. This role provides strategic leadership to regional sales teams while building a high-performance culture aligned to Growth-Ten (Richfield, AAA, Alt_Ed) brand, values, and student-centric ethos.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sales Leadership
- Lead the development, execution, and continuous refinement of Growth-Ten’s national sales strategy.
- Analyse market trends and competitor intelligence to identify opportunities for growth.
- Develop attraction strategy in collaboration with the marketing team as well as the measurement of this strategy.
- Drive sales targets across all regions, products, and modalities (contact learning, distance learning, short courses, executive programmes, corporate training).
- Forecast enrolment and revenue projections in line with organisational planning.
- Team & Performance Management
- Oversee and manage national field sales teams.
- Implement performance KPIs, incentive structures, and accountability frameworks.
- Ensure continuous training and development of sales teams to improve product knowledge, closing skills, and compliance standards.
- Promote a performance-driven, ethical and customer-focused culture.
Stakeholder Management & Partnerships
- Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, corporates, TVETs, recruitment agents, online platforms, and community organisations, working closely with the schools marketing coordinator and the CRM.
- Expand Richfield’s footprint through partnerships that grow enrolments and brand visibility.
- Collaborate closely with Marketing, Academic, Campuses, and Finance teams to ensure a seamless student recruitment process.
Sales Operations & Compliance
- Oversee end-to-end sales operations including lead generation, CRM utilisation, reporting, and conversion strategies.
- Ensure compliance with POPIA, ethical student recruitment practices, and all higher education regulatory requirements.
- Produce monthly and quarterly performance reports for EXCO and Board Committees.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or related field.
- 8–10 years sales management experience, preferably in higher education, training or services sector.
- Demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets.
- Proven experience managing dispersed, high-performance teams.
Preferred:
- Postgraduate qualification (e.g., MBA, Postgraduate Diploma in Management).
- Very high proficiency in excel and systems to support data-driven sales decision-making.
- Strong corporate network and knowledge of the South African education landscape.
