Purpose

Responsible for managing the financial activities for BML Business Unit. The role will ensure overall financial viability management, including timely collection of outstanding debts owed to the company while managing payments owed to creditors.

Skills Required

  • 3 – 5 years proven experience in debtors and creditors environment. 2 – 3 in a management role.
  • Grade 12. Degree or Diploma in Accounting or related
  • Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles is an added advantage

 

 

Competencies

  •  Ensure all financial commitments are strictly adhered to and all suppliers are paid on time.
  • Collaborate with business unit heads to develop and maintain detailed budgets per site / project using historical data to support and review monthly to determine deviations and anomalies.
  • Monitor and manage the accounts receivable ledger to ensure timely collection of outstanding debts.
  • Oversee the accounts’ payable function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments to creditors.
  • Assist with the audit and preparation of an audit files on an ongoing basis.
  • Prepare management accounts monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Analysing financial reports and giving value input to the group finance manager.
  • Preparation and computation of monthly vat calculations
  • Updating and maintaining cashflow reports and forecasts.
  • Implement best practices and recommend system enhancements to enhance the debtors and creditors management function.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of Bookkeepers and Accountants, providing guidance and support to ensure productivity and accuracy.
