This is a brilliant opportunity for a detail-obsessed finance professional who thrives on translating complex data into clean, compelling stories. You’ll sit at the intersection of reporting, analysis, and business planning, playing a pivotal role in how the Exco and Board understand performance, risks, and strategic direction.

If you’re the kind of person who obsesses over crisp PowerPoint decks, loves connecting numbers to meaning, and is equally comfortable with spreadsheets and stakeholders — this one’s got your name on it.

Why join this team?

  • Work directly with senior leadership including CFO, Financial Director, and CEO
  • Be the storyteller behind the numbers that shape strategy
  • Own and enhance reporting for high-stakes presentations (Exco, Board, CEO)
  • Blend reporting, business analysis, and financial modelling in one dynamic role
  • Bring structure and insight to budgeting and business planning processes
  • Opportunity to flex your modelling skills and grow in FP&A and strategy

What you’ll be doing:

  • Taking raw financial data from multiple entities and turning it into crisp, board-ready reporting decks
  • Building PowerPoint presentations that actually get read clear, insightful, and professionally polished
  • Analysing group financials to identify key trends, risks, and performance narratives
  • Supporting strategic business planning cycles across multiple entities
  • Working closely with senior stakeholders to ensure reporting aligns with business goals
  • Contributing to the development of financial models that allow for sensitivity and scenario analysis (especially during budgeting cycles)
  • Stepping up to present when needed, you’ll be trusted as a knowledgeable voice in the room
  • Responsible for supporting the budgeting and forecasting process for the group including financial modelling, process management, monitoring, analysis and various management as well as roll-ups of forecasting.
  •  Manage the integration of key processes, systems and data to allow development of wholistic business plans and analyses that informs the planning decision and setting of strategic targets.
  • Prepare accurate and timeous monthly and quarterly reporting packs to the relevant boards and committees.
  • Provide decision support services to senior management by preparing relevant information, analysing the information and considering various scenarios (predictive analytics).
  • Review processes and financial reporting requirements and recommend improvements to enhance the effectiveness of the financial reporting and decision making at group.
  • Responsible for driving processes to automate management reporting.
  • Assume an active role in developing and enhancing the Business Intelligence platform, dashboards (on various platforms) and business KPI’s to provide insight into the various businesses and the group’s financial performance.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • A qualified CA(SA) or CIMA professional
  • Experienced 7+ years in financial reporting and analysis within a large corporate, ideally in mining, FMCG, or construction
  • Technically sharp — fluent in Excel, PowerPoint, and familiar with ERP/reporting tools
  • A visual thinker — able to build slick presentations that speak to executive-level audiences
  • A critical thinker — you won’t just report numbers; you’ll ask what they mean
  • Personable and confident — you can collaborate, challenge, and present with credibility
  • Commercially minded — understands how financial results align with strategy and risk
